Basic technique.(3). Vibrato

Generally speaking, vibrato is very common in hulusi music performance. The sign in numbered musical notation is “tr”.

The method of performance

Toot the current sound first, then close and open the next hole rapidly and equably for several times. Make sure that the last sound is the current principal sound. For example, 2(tr), can be performed as 32323232.

Notice

1. Relax your fingers and make sure the holes closed tightly;

2. Vibrato performance needs definite strength, the principal sound should be tooted as “too [tu]”.
